Meet the Inglewood Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Inglewood
Adrian Vance started this company in 2014 doing commercial access-control work, and the discipline from those job sites still runs through every residential call we make in Inglewood. The crew here isn’t a rotating cast of subcontractors. These are the same faces you’ll see at your gate, the same people who answer the phone at 2 a.m., and the same hands that document every adjustment before they leave your property. We’re not the biggest gate company in Inglewood. We’re the one that keeps a written record of everything we touch on your property, and that habit comes from the top down.
Our People
Marcus T. - Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Vance Gate Repair Inglewood for seven years, longer than anyone on the crew except Adrian. He came up through commercial gate automation, which means he can diagnose a misaligned photo-eye on a residential swing gate roughly as fast as he can identify a failing limit switch on a 20-year-old LiftMaster. Marcus handles the most technically stubborn calls, the ones where the gate works fine until it doesn’t, or where a previous repair left wiring that looks like a bird’s nest. He’s the guy who photographs every connection before he closes the panel, and he keeps a notebook of every gate he’s worked on in Inglewood. In his off hours, Marcus rebuilds small engines, a hobby that probably explains why he’s unfazed by a seized gearbox on a Monday morning.
Sofia R. - Senior Installer
Sofia has been welding and fabricating gate hardware for over a decade, and she’s the person we send when a post is compromised or a hinge has pulled loose from the concrete. Her specialty is steel work: reinforcing sagging frames, welding brackets back to spec, and fabricating parts that manufacturers no longer stock. She is certified in MIG and TIG welding, and she keeps her truck stocked with enough steel stock to handle most repairs without a second trip. Sofia is also our lead instructor for new apprentices, which means she’s had to explain why you don’t weld near a sealed bearing more times than she’d care to admit. She lives in the South Bay and commutes to Inglewood daily, mostly so she can surf before work.
Devon K. - Service Coordinator
Devon is the voice on the phone, and that’s true at any hour, because we answer live around the clock. He’s been with Vance Gate Repair Inglewood for five years, and his job is to get you on the schedule without wasting your time. Devon knows which technician fits which problem: a motor that hums but won’t move goes to Marcus, a gate that grinds against its post goes to Sofia. He also handles the intake for our free second opinion on written estimates from other companies, so if you bring paperwork, Devon is the first person you’ll talk to. He used to work in a parts warehouse and can usually identify a gate hardware part from a verbal description alone, which is a more useful skill than it sounds.
Elena P. - Apprentice Technician
Elena is the youngest member of the crew and the one who shadows Marcus on complex repairs and Sofia on welding days. She’s been with us for two years and is working through her gate operator installation hours, which means she’s spent a lot of time learning to set travel limits precisely and test safety edges under load. Elena handles the photo documentation on her jobs with a thoroughness that has become the standard we hold everyone to. She’s detailed without being slow, and she asks the questions a homeowner would ask if they were standing there watching. Off the clock, she plays bass in a garage band that practices, fittingly, behind a very old automatic gate.
One Standard, Every Job

Every technician on this crew operates under the same set of rules, and those rules don’t vary by neighborhood or by how busy the week is. The written price comes before any work begins, handed to you on paper, because Adrian built this company on the idea that a gate repair quote shouldn’t require a phone call after the fact. Every visit leaves behind a photographed record of what was found, what was adjusted, and what was installed, filed in our records and shared with you. And every completed job carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the repair isn’t right, we make it right within that year at no additional charge. That’s not a slogan, it’s a contract. The crew in Inglewood didn’t invent that standard, but they’re the reason it has held up for 22,000 gates and counting since 2014.
