The DEIMOS BT and DEIMOS Ultra handle sliding gates and take a different control board entirely. The ARES and SUB lines show up on older Inglewood installations, and those boards predate the current plug-in receiver format. We’ve seen a DEIMOS board bolted into a RIGEL housing more than once because the mounting screws line up, and it never ends well. BFT access control runs on low-voltage wiring, usually 24V, so the shock risk is minimal compared to line-voltage work. What trips people up is the programming and the compatibility matching. BFT receivers are coded to match specific remote families. BFT keypads have to be wired to the correct board terminals and programmed in the right sequence. Wire it wrong and the gate won’t move. Short a terminal by accident and you can fry the new board you just bought. If you’re comfortable with a multimeter and reading a wiring diagram, a receiver swap is doable.
